Thomas M. Morrow is Senior Counsel in our Intellectual Property (IP), Franchise & Distribution, Employment, and Business Litigation Practice Groups.
With nearly 20 years’ experience litigating IP disputes, Mr. Morrow serves as lead attorney on numerous copyright and trademark cases. Experienced in all pre-trial aspects of litigation, Mr. Morrow focuses on client goals to develop strategy, before embarking on discovery, court hearings, and mediation.
Aside from copyright and trademark matters, Mr. Morrow’s experience also includes trade secret litigation and licensing disputes.

Before joining Lewitt Hackman, Mr. Morrow worked as a chemical manufacturing engineer and senior plant engineer for a globally known petroleum company. He then became an IP litigation attorney for law firms in Texas. During that time, he authored and co-authored amicus briefs filed with the U.S. Supreme Court – including those involving intellectual property and antitrust law.
Mr. Morrow earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Houston, where he graduated magna cum laude. He served as articles editor for the Houston Law Review and was admitted to the Order of the Coif and Order of the Barons, the university’s scholastic honors societies.
He obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Houston where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering. Mr. Morrow was a member of the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society as well as the Omega Chi Epsilon Chemical Engineering Honor Society. He graduated cum laude, and later earned his Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston, Clear Lake.
Mr. Morrow frequently writes and speaks on IP issues. His work has been published in the National Law Journal, BNA Patent, Trademark & Copyright Journal, Texas Lawyer, and Valley Lawyer, to name a few. His publications addressed the practice of reverse engineering in compliance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, the rights of employee-inventors in the U.S. and abroad, fair use doctrine in copyright law, and other topics related to intellectual property law.
Over the years, Mr. Morrow has presented legal programs at both local and national forums, including: the American Bar Association, the American Intellectual Property Association, the Texas State Bar, the Houston IP Law Association, and the San Fernando Valley Bar Association.
Mr. Morrow is a member of the State Bars of both California and Texas. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, all state and federal courts in California and Texas, and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
